ObliqueTweet

What

ObliqueTweet is my first attempt at a twitterbot, tweet anything @ObliqueTweet and it will reply with a random Oblique Strategy (currently the 4th edition).

Lots of information about the Oblique Stratigies can be found at A Primer On Oblique Strategizing but basically they are a set of fortune cookies designed to help with creative decision making in a random kind of way.

How

Script using twitter api downloads all of the replies to obliqueTweet and replies to them with a randomly picked Oblique Strategy.

Stuff borrowed from Simple Twitter Bot by Lee Adkins (can be downloaded from Files - Twitter Development Talk), XMLParser Documentation/Tutorial by Adam A Flynn and the twitter api pages.

I am using http://www.webbasedcron.com to fire off the script every minute. This might not last as it cost $24 a year ~~(I am on a 15 day free trial)~~. Although I've added the job to my own crontab, I cannot see it working although other jobs there do.

Why?

For fun, I am hoping to figure out how this could be of use in school. no ideas yet.
